Modern Stretching

Anyone involved in soccer knows that flexibility is one of primary components of fitness. All players should stretch before and after practice and games, but old methods still might permeate the soccer industry so its time to move forward.  We've added a special stretching manual on modern stretching to help outline some of the critical elements of stretching. As a coach or parent who has a fundamental stewardship over these players, it's important to get them stretching and stretching right.  In order to do this, sometimes you have convince the players by explaining to them why they need to stretch. This manual was created by Taylor Tollison to spread the word on the fundamentals of stretching.

The stretching manual explains and talks in more detail about these important areas of stretching:

  • Does stretching really help reduce injuries?
  • There is a right way and a wrong way to stretch.  This manual addresses the do's and don'ts of stretching to help you do it the right way.
  • As mentioned earlier, the old way of stretching might still permeate the soccer industry. This manual talks about what the old and new way is for stretching.
  • How to static stretch.  This manual gives sets, reps and images to guide your stretching route.
