The 2007 Girls Red traveled to Blaine, Minnesota this weekend to compete in the NSC Cup. This tournament provides good competition from around the Midwest and is a good team bonding event. The team was a bit concerned heading to the tournament, as weather around here had not been cooperating. They had been forced to train indoors leading up to the event and were concerned this might put them at a disadvantage. They were confident that the level of commitment the team showed over the winter in their training's would help them overcome the lack of outdoor training.
In their first game of the event, they settled into play and beat Rush Minnesota team 5-0. In their second game on Saturday against Gitchi Gummi, the girls pounced early and often on their way to a 9-0 victory. On Sunday, Keliix Intra provided their toughest competition to that point, but the team prevailed 4-2.
In the final, the team faced off against Prior Lake White. The game was competitive through out and the team was forced to play their best. When the whistle blew, they had secured the Championship with a 2-1 victory. The tournament saw contributions from everyone and was a great bonding experience for the team.
